NEW YORK, Nov. 1, 2000/ — World-renowned fashion designers Dolce & Gabbana will transform New York City’s legendary Roseland Ballroom into a lavish and surreal western wonderland for a gala event Sunday, November 5th to celebrate Madonna’s latest smash hit album, Music
.

For this very special occasion, the internationally acclaimed fashion team of Dolce & Gabbana have agreed to bring their cutting edge design sensibilities to a magical morphing of Roseland — the first time the designers have ever lent their talents to the creation of a total environment. The evening’s cyber round-up theme is inspired by the hyper-western persona created by Madonna for the cover of Music.

While details of the environment’s daring and dazzling decor are being kept tightly under wraps, the “Cyberroundupinstillation” will include everything from orbiting horseshoes to gravity-defying mechanical bulls to anything and everything that will enhance the inspired and outrageous atmosphere of the once-in-a-lifetime evening.

“Madonna has always embodied the spirit of what Dolce & Gabbana are all about,” said Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. “Her freedom to express who she is and what she believes in her music and sense of style captures the essence of the Dolce & Gabbana look. It’s a look we’re delighted to bring to this special event.”

A unique way of thanking her fans for the extraordinary success of Music, which is currently number one in over 30 countries, the event will include an appearance by Madonna along with Everlast and DJing from Deep Dish. Remarked Madonna “This is a chance for me to get my feet wet on the stage again and a way to say thank you to an intimate group of my fans for all their support over the years. It’s a party that 3,000 people are invited to and I am going to sing a few songs at my party.”

The Roseland extravaganza is not the first time Madonna has joined forces with Dolce & Gabbana. The designers — whose trend-setting and tradition-shattering fashions have earned them a fervent following from celebrities to citizens on the street — created all the costumes for Madonna’s fun and flashy 1993 “Girlie Show” tour and the megastar has often been seen sporting Dolce & Gabbana’s latest and most distinctive creations. It’s a fashion statement sure to be heard round the world when Madonna makes her Roseland entrance on November 5th in — what else? — a Dolce & Gabbana original.
