LOS ANGELES, Sep 24, 2008 / FW/ — Continuing its mission to bring awareness and exposure of important environmental issues to and through the fashion world, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week at Smashbox Studios, commonly called Los Angeles Fashion Week is carrying the standard for green fashion.

Though Madison Avenue had warned everyone that ‘green’ had been overexposed to consumers, those who truly believe persist in promoting sustainable production and eco-friendly design.

“By keeping our event green, we are giving our industry the chance to reach far beyond the trends of the fashion,” says Davis Factor, co-founder of Smashbox Studios. “In addition to showing the progression in style and design, we are promoting an environmental trend that shows our industry is willing to change for the good of the planet.”

Confirmed eco-friendly designers returning this season include Eco-Ganik and The Gallery, and first timer Leila Hafzi.

Other confirmed designers debuting their collections include Sheiki Jeans, Caroline D’Amore, Lana Fuchs, Debra Davenport, Tulle & Cloth Logic and Amelia Toro. Returning to Smashbox Studios for another stellar season are designers Kevan Hall, Suh-Tahn, Whitley Kros, Ed Hardy, Julia Clancey, Beach Bunny Swimwear, Joseph Domingo, Lauren Conrad Collection, Christian Audigier and Samora.
