Johanna Hatzenbuehler Graduation Collection at AAU
DALLAS, Oct 9, 2008 / FW/ — For her graduation collection, Koesching, Germany-native Johanna Hatzenbuehler created clothing from recycled fabrics.
Inspired by the Iguazu waterfalls in South America waterfalls in South America, Hatzenbuehler combined fluid lines of falling water with traditional Latin cultural aesthetics. The garments included abstracted designs and embroidery details, that were based on the traditional folk embroideries from Latin America.
“I am using vintage-recycled garments, some of which I have hand dyed, as well as airy chiffon and lightweight silks,” commented the Womenswear Design grad who was raised in Reichertshofen, Germany and Houston, TX.
