LOS ANGELES, Dec 15, 2008 / FW/ — It’s time to cheer for your favorites. Last Thursday, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 66th Golden Globe Awards, which will be held on January 11, 2009 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. It will be telecast live on NBC at 8:00 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Best Motion Picture – Drama

Best Actress (Drama)

  • Anne Hathaway – Rachel Getting Married
    Anne Hathaway – This is her first nomination.
  • Angelina Jolie – Changeling
    Angelina Jolie – Received three Golden Globes; for Best Supporting Actress for Girl, Interrupted, for Best Actress (Mini-series/TV movie) for Gia, and for Best Supporting Actress (Mini-Series/TVMovie) for George Wallace. She was also nominated for Best Actress (Drama) for A Mighty Heart.
  • Kristin Scott Thomas – I’ve Loved You So Long
    Kristin Scott Thomas – Received a Best Actress (Drama) nomination for The English Patient.
  • Meryl Streep – Doubt
    Meryl Streep – Received six Golden Globes; one for Best Actress (Comedy/Musical) for The Devil Wears Prada, two for Best Actress (Drama) for The French Lieutenant’s Woman and Sophie’s Choice, two as Best Supporting Actress for Adaptation and Kramer Vs. Kramer, and one for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Telefilm for Angels in America. She received 14 additional movie acting nominations for The Manchurian Candidate, The Hours, Music of the Heart, One True Thing, Marvin’s Room, The Bridges of Madison County, The River Wild, Death Becomes Her, Postcards From the Edge, The Deer Hunter, Silkwood, Out of Africa, A Cry in the Dark and She-Devil. She also received a nomination as Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Telefilm for First Do No Harm.

    Kate Winslet – received two Best Actress (Drama) nominations for Little Children and Titanic, a Best Actress (Comedy or Musical) nomination for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and two Best Supporting Actress nominations for Iris and Sense and Sensibility.

Leonardo DiCaprio – Received a Best Actor (Drama) Golden Globe for The Aviator. He has received five additional nominations; four for Best Actor (Drama) for Blood Diamond, The Departed, Catch Me If You Can and Titanic, as well as a Best Supporting Actor nomination for What’s Eating Gilbert Grape?
