DALLAS, Jan 5, 2009 / FW/ — Barbie turns 50 in 2009 and to celebrate her birthday, our favorite blonde will grace the New York catwalk. Mattel, as part of its three-year partnership with CFDA will be unveiling a 50-piece life-size collection created by a bevy of still to be named designers at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Barbie is not alone in claiming a stake on the Bryant Park catwalks for the Fall 2009 season. IMG released a partial list of designers who are confirmed to show (as reported by The Daily, official publication of IMG):

Notable name is Georges Chakra who shows his couture collections during Haute Couture week in Paris. This will be his first foray in the U.S. as he builds his ready-to-wear line. A very familiar name, Calvin Klein Men that traditionally shows during Milano Moda Uomo will also grace the New York runway after being away for a very long time.
