Jen Kao Fall 2009

NEW YORK, Feb 22, 2009 / FW/ — Triangular inspirations set the tone for the fall 2009 collection presented by American designer Jen Kao. Proven strengths of precision gave the designer confidence to face the challenge of utilizing geometric style lines for this season’s theme.

Trousers and cuffed shorts were presented in black and navy tones of leather and suede textures. Details featured high waistlines and tapered in seam trousers.

Cropped hooded suede jackets were worn over plunging neckline tanks of solid colors or enhanced in true art or fashion work with hand detailed metallic embroidery.

The audience favored one-piece mini jumpsuits shown in perforated suede or metallic beadwork on solid black jersey offering caftan silhouettes and shallow pockets. The simple slip over mini dress silhouette was given lady like essence when seamed with full-length lace sleeves and finished with a solid hood and draped neckline.

Full-length evening dresses completed the collection in variations that offered elongating shape toned by asymmetrical style lines and texture by metallic handwork. Over all is was the choice of monochromatic arrangements that allowed the careful thoughtful detail to be admired.
