NEW YORK, Feb 13, 2009 / FW/ — Sunny day and temperatures in the low 40s, it was already hectic even before the first show of the season began. Opening show was the Red Dress Collection and the backstage was at the NY Public Library, not at the tent, so our crew had to separate.

Two were sent backstage to do the coverage and I had to stand in line to get my press badge. Two of our writers were running late and we would not see them until after the Yigal Azrouel show. They were too late to attend the Red Dress Collection and went straight to the next one.

Finally, everyone got together after Yigal Azrouel and assignments were given. But, because there was no journalist’s lounge, we had to meet outside in the cold, so we had to keep our coats on and freeze our fingers while writing or typing.

Interesting comments to my two assistants this season: A video crew interviewed them and asked about what they were wearing. At the end of the interview, they were asked where they are from. They answered Dallas, TX. The video crew said, “I thought you are from New York.”

My two assistants answered almost in unison. “There is fashion in Dallas. We are the holy land of shopping! Neiman Marcus started in our city.”

My opinion, ‘you go girls!’
