PARIS, Mar 14, 2009 / FW/ — In a collection aptly entitled ‘Dark Reign’, Collette Dinnigan sent out a predominantly black collection that gave her signature sexy silhouettes a ‘bad girl’ even sinister touch and thus creating an excitement that brims just under the surface.
Perhaps it’s the popularity of True Blood or Twilight that has propelled the Australian designer to go this modern gothic route. Maybe, she is just trying to update her signature looks. Whatever her reasons are, its working because this collection sizzles.
Sweater dresses in woolen cashmere; opulent and embroidered roses on skin baring minis; Edwardian silhouettes created with voluminous tulle – the Collette Dinnigan woman is a femme fatale.
