Isabel Zapardiez Bridal Spring 2010

MADRID, Apr 24, 2009 / FW/ — Taking inspiration from the carnival queen, Isabel Zapardiez’s bride is sultry and mysterious and thus making her more than just desirable to her groom.

Giving a nod to the vintage trend, Zapardiez went back to the 1920s when women even at the height of their sultriness are virginal. For our generation that sounds preposterous, but 100 years ago, that’s exactly how it is.

Like her peers, Zapardiez opted for airy and delicate fabrics, such as silk organza, gauze and guipure, featuring adornments in silver and glass, creating the image of a romantic bride with a slightly retro style. The colors focused on the entire range of white and natural shades.

With the average expenditure of 1,800 euros for a wedding gown in Spain, bridal wear is more than just an extension of a designer’s label, taking into consideration that Spain is second only to Italy in Europe in terms of expenditure on wedding dresses.
