NEW YORK, May 12, 2009 / FW/ — Hosted by Kevin Bacon and Michelle Monaghan and underwritten by Calvin Klein, Inc, the Free Arts NYC 10th Annual Art Auction Benefit last night in New York City raised over $500,000 which will go to the Free Arts NYC Programs for Children initiative.

Co-hosts Kevin Bacon and Michelle Monaghan, which incidentally were wardrobed by Calvin Klein Collection for the evening, shared the limelight with co-chairs Francisco Costa, Women’s Creative Director and Italo Zucchelli, Men’s Creative Director, both of Calvin Klein.

The quartet was joined by Free Arts NYC board members, Amy Sacco and Mary Alice Stephenson, along with Glenda Bailey, Editor in Chief, Harper’s Bazaar; and David Granger, Editor in Chief, Esquire. All of them were wardrobed by Calvin Klein Collection for the evening.

The successful event included a very well-attended silent auction as well as a live auction conducted by auctioneer, Simon de Pury, of the renowned Phillips de Pury & Company auction house.

Combined, more than 100 artworks and photographs – from artists and photographers such as Chris Burden, Barbara Kruger, James Nares, Yoko Ono, Kiki Smith, and Christopher Wool, among others – were sold raising over $500,000 which will directly benefit Free Arts NYC children’s programs.

For the evening, Calvin Klein Collection also wardrobed Molly Sims, Lindsay Price, Josh Radnor, Karolina Kurkova, Hilary Rhoda, Teresa Palmer, Jason Rogers, Sessilee Lopez, Kathryn Neale, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, and Eric Villency.

Each of the women’s looks were designed by Mr. Costa, and each of the men’s look were designed by Mr. Zucchelli.

Other notables in attendance included Ed Westwick, Elizabeth Olsen, Ross Bleckner, Thom Browne, Erin Fetherston, Caroline Ribeiro, Zani Gugelman, Lisa Marie Fernandez, Fiona Scarry, Yvonne Force Villareal, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Helen Lee & Tim Schifter, Audrey Quock, Andrew Saffir, Glenn O’Brien, Mickey Boardman, Sam Schaffer, Michael Shulman, Kevin Carrigan, and Liz Hopfan, the Executive Director and Founder of Free Arts NYC.
