DALLAS, May 12, 2009 / FW/ — It was almost anti-climatic. After weeks of rumors and speculations, Nina Ricci announced that Peter Copping as the maison’s new Creative Director.

A graduate of London’s Central Saint Martin’s and the Royal College of Art for his master’s degree, British-born Copping until his appointment at Nina Ricci was Marc Jacob’s assistant at Louis Vuitton. The 42-year old designer brings with him 12-years of experience from Louis Vuitton at Nina Ricci.

But, Nina Ricci fans have to wait until March 2010 to see Peter Copping make his runway debut. According to the London Telegraph, the newly appointed Creative Director will show a capsule resort collection later this year, but no plans for an elaborate catwalk show had been announced.
