NEW YORK, Jul 23, 2009 / FW/ — When beautiful Australians gather in New York’s Garment District; well, that catches your attention. As it turned out, last night was the inaugural dinner and fundraiser for the Australians in New York Fashion Foundation.

With Julie Anne Quay, Malcom Carfrae and Anthony Todd among the eleven founding board members, it was bound to be a fashionable night. And it was!

Kristy Heinze, who is an Honorary Board Member and the host of the Australian spin-off of “Project Runway” (and wife of Netscape billionaire Jim Clarke) wore a custom dress from Calvin Klein Collection, designed by Francisco Costa, who was also in the party.

Actress Sarah Wynter, best known for her role as Kate Warner in the TV drama “24”, is also an Honorary Board Member and chose to wear a dress from Calvin Klein, designed by Kevin Carrigan, Creative Director, ck Calvin Klein and Calvin Klein.

The Australians in New York Fashion Foundation creates opportunities through scholarships and connections for young Australians to gain work experience in New York’s fashion and beauty industries.
