PARIS, Jul 2, 2009 / FW/ — A new name in the Paris fashion scene, Qasimi debuted its men and womenswear collection during the Fall 2009 season (February 2008). A year later, the label arrives in Paris and becomes a voice in the very competitive French fashion scene.
The brainchild of Khalid Al Qasimi, a UAE native and a graduate of London’s Central Saint Martins, Qasami is a blend of the ancient and the modern, with “ancient” refers to ancient Egypt as exemplified by the body jewelry and the hoodies being proposed.
Fusing the pharaoh’s aesthetics with the needs of the modern man, Khalid Al Qasimi also designed the more traditional double breasted suit but gave it a slanted pocket that looked like a ladder, and by doing so echoed also the ancient Egyptian theme.
In this new vision of fashion, Khalid Al Qasimi’s voice is yearning to be noticed.
