NEW YORK, Aug 17, 2009 / FW/ — In the ever changing global economy, big chain retailers are betting on style influencers to sell products.

Producer/song writer turned R and B artist Ne-Yo is the new face of Alfani’s better wear men’s line Red. Alfani Red is a new slick addition to the in house Macy’s brand. You will see slimmer cuts and sleek design along with serious flashes of color on ties and pocket squares.

The collaboration with Ne-Yo and Alfani is a great match. Seeing that the R and B star is beginning to make his film debut in a movie based on the Tuskegee Airmen. When artists begin to branch out into new territories, often their image must change.

Ne-Yo has never been one to look for fashion forwardness, but he has been more about his craftsmanship of creating hit songs for Rhianna and Beyoncé along with himself.

The collection is featuring mostly greys, black and charcoal suits. There are hints of modernity in the extra pockets on jackets and the ultra slim pant legs. Better quality cotton poplin shirts along with a full range of dandy accessories are additions to the collection.

Alfani Red will be in stores this fall ready for the gentlemen crowd headed back to the office from a long summer.
