LOS ANGELES, Aug 15, 2009 / FW/ — The updated version of the 1990s prime time soap of the same title, “Melrose Place” premieres on FOX on September 8, 2009, literally two days before the start of New York Fashion Week.

Following the vision of CW President of Entertainment Dawn Ostroff who sees The CW as the style hub for young women, Melrose Places follows in the footsteps of its popular shows “Gossip Girl” and “90210” when it comes to fashion — young female fans dressing like characters in CW shows.

Hence, it is not surprising that Emma Trask, highly regarded editorial stylist and now Head of Wardrobe of “Melrose Place” is collaborating with Los Angeles-based designer Lloyd Klein who is widely known for dressing red-carpet celebrity “icons and ingénues” including such women as Hayden Panetierre, Marissa Miller, Eva Longoria, Natalie Cole among others.

According to a statement released by Lloyd Klein, the designer had been commissioned to create signature look pieces for Katie Cassidy who plays “Ella” in Melrose Place.

In the Melrose Place’s storyline, Ella is a fashion publicist who quickly rises through the ranks and is a “fashioniste” known for wearing statement fashion and is bold enough to create trends rather than merely follow them.

Lloyd Klein will be tailoring key looks from his Spring 2010 runway collection for Cassidy’s character as the series progresses throughout the season. The designer, who will bow his upcoming collection on the runway during LA Fashion Week in October, provided key looks for the Ugly Betty wardrobe department when the show was filmed in Los Angeles.

Klein’s one-of-a-kind contributions, under the selection of Eduardo Castro, undoubtedly contributed to the show becoming nominated for several Emmy’s and winning Costume Designers Guild awards for its wardrobe decisions.
