Christian Siriano Spring 2010NEW YORK, Sep 13, 2009 / FW/ — Holding his show on the busiest day of fashion week, Christian Siriano held his own as he attracted a glittering front row that included Mena Suvari and Tori Spelling, plus executives from Payless ShoeSource and Victoria’s Secret whom he is collaborating with a shoe line and a make-up line, respectively.

To say that it was a full capacity crowd would be an understatement because the standing room section is also full. Arguably the most successful among the Project Runway alumni, Christian Siriano is proving that there is life after reality TV the same way that American Idol winners have found fame and recognition in their chosen careers.

Sending daywear and eveningwear on the runway accessorized with his Payless ShoeSource line and the models done in Victoria’s Secret make-up by Christian Siriano, the Maryland-born designer proposed sorbet shades of blue and beige for Spring 2010.

To add drama, Siriano also sparingly added some metallic elements and chose computer generated graphics for prints, the most spectacular of which is the catsuit that defined the woman’s body perfectly.

The whole collection is dramatic overall, beginning from the first exit; but Siriano kept the best for last – the final three exits are something to behold.

A beige gown adorned with crystals on the bodice, the skirt arranged in layers of gigantic petals was followed by a degradé gown in beige and orange done in layers. And the true finale – a bustier gown in CGI prints that is predominantly red orange embellished with asymmetrical double layered ruffles.

And to use his own favorite quote that he made famous in the fashion sense, the collection is ‘FIERCE!’
