MILAN, Sep 29, 2009 / FW/ — While other designers are going futuristic, designing twins Dean and Dan Caten are going back to nature as they translated last June’s highly successfully menswear camping theme into womenswear.

DSquared2 Spring 2010

Yet roughing it up is different for the DSquared2 woman as she dons high tech jeans that literally morphs from washed denim to yellow neoprene right before your eyes or an apron dress that does the same, i.e. from a white knit shirt it turns into a gray synthetic fabric.

And, my favorite of all, a transparent plastic turned into a frock decorated with crystal and paired with a sweatshirt that simply says DSquared2. With a sewn-in crystal brooch, it’s a party dress! Now, how cool is that!

The atmosphere might be fun but the fashion is serious. Dean & Dan did a lot of research to be able to pull off seamlessly morphing from natural fiber to synthetic material. And somehow, just for this collection alone, they are already worth the star they have in Canada’s Walk of Fame.
