MILAN, Sep 28, 2009 / FW/ — When the finale is a strapless gown in camouflage and the cocktail dresses are reminiscent of a knight’s armor, while the shredded jeans are paired with a starburst blouse with a keyhole, it’s really very hard not to think that John Richmond’s muse for Spring 2010 is a woman warrior.

She is one tough chick with all the requisite sexiness associated with John Richmond’s creations. In popular culture, she can be G.I. Joe’s “Cover Girl” or Resident Evil’s Jill Valentine, or taken from a historic point of view, this woman warrior can be Joan of Arc.

That she is on the runway is not surprising at all. After all, the catwalk is also the summation of multiple influences. And right now, strong woman are in while damsels in distress are losing favor.
