Kina Fernandez Spring 2010MADRID, Oct 23, 2009 / — A stalwart of the Spanish fashion scene, Kina Fernandez trained in Paris before returning to Spain in 1972 after which she opened a boutique and began designing clothes, growing the business to create Volvoreta, S. A. and finally in 1985, she launched her eponymous label.

It will be in 1999 when she would finally return to Paris, showing her creations at the Carrousel de Louvre. The President of the Regional Government of Galicia awarded her the Castelao medal in recognition of her human side and her extensive and devoted professional work.

She also opened her first boutique in Madrid in the heart of the Salamanca district. This was followed by others in different points of Spain. And from there, she had gone from strength to strength, her latest endeavor, the launch of the Kina Fernández Jewellery Collection in 2007.

For Spring 2010, Kina Fernandez described her collection as: “Colour poetry, chromatic explosion. Mystic, romantic, magic-filled gardens. Light harmony in delicate, fresh, almost impalpable textures. Subtle volumes that glide softly. Spring arrives with exacerbated enthusiasm. The environment exudes beauty, all the elements feel like sprouting and coming out with delicate force… leaving the neutral winter behind.”
