PARIS, Oct 2, 2009 / FW/ — If for Fall 2009 it was all about flowers at Manish Arora, Spring 2010 finds us an amphibious world where the ladies are sometimes mermaids and other times they are terrans; yet no matter what form they are, they are sirens who demand our attention.

Manish Arora Spring 2010

As always with a Manish Arora show, it borders on fantasy, because on the catwalk, there really is no other way to present these exuberant colors and prolific silhouettes except as a story of a parallel world to ours, or a far away galaxy that is so similar to us.

But, this season, there are more of us than the galaxy far far away as Manish Arora moves from Star Wars to Star Gate, to use a geek metaphor. Just take away some of the sequins, or the shiny headdresses, and especially the intergalactic vest, the clothes are actually wearable!

And that is what made this collection a giant step forward for Manish Arora.
