bg_men0912_09DALLAS, Nov 13, 2009 / FW/ — A movie tie-in with the upcoming “Fantastic Mr. Fox” scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on November 25, the Bergdorf Goodman Men’s holiday windows are “recreations” of scenes from the animated movie. And that really says it all.

To many, the store window is just to sell merchandise; yet it can be a lot more as exemplified here. Yes, there are still merchandise on display that are available in the store of course, yet with the movie-tie in, the window has also become a part of crossover marketing.

Question is, why would the studio choose store windows to promote a movie? Well, it has been done before and one of the biggest beneficiaries of this crossover marketing is Harry Potter. With all the merchandising going on from the wand to Hogwarts uniforms, seeing them on display in a store window is a plus.

Back to the Fantastic Mr. Fox, there will obviously be merchandise from the movie. After all, though this is rated PG-13, it is still a family movie. And the November 25th arrival in theaters makes it a prime candidate for a holiday blockbuster.

That the Fantastic Mr. Fox reached Bergdorf Goodman Men is not surprising; and it will not be a surprise either if we find out that this is happening all over the country.\
