NEW YORK, Nov 18, 2009 / FW/ — As a prelude to the limited release in the U.S. of Pedro Almovar’s latest film “Broken Embraces”, a special screening attended by the star of the film, Penelope Cruz was held at the Crosby Street Hotel.

Hosted by Calvin Klein Collection, along with The Cinema Society and Sony Pictures Classics, the special screening attracted the glitterati set that include Fergie, Keira Chaplin, Lee Pace, Agyness Deyn, Jason Rogers, and Michael Pitt, all of whom were wardrobed by Calvin Klein Collection for the evening, together with Penelope Cruz who chose an all-white ensemble for the evening.

Other notables in attendance included Billy Crudup, Mira Sorvino, Donna Karan, Gabby Karan, Patrick Demarchelier, Michael Imperioli, Jamie Bochert, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Olivia Thirlby, Jonathan Cake, Kim Gordon, Charlotte Ronson, Irina Pantaeva, Olivia Palermo, Alex Lundqvist, Ari Graynor, Katharine McPhee, Daniel Benedict, and Tim Morehouse, as well as Calvin Klein’s Creative Director’s, Mr. Costa, Mr. Zucchelli, and Kevin Carrigan.

First released in Spain in March 2009, “Broken Embraces” centers on the four-way tale of dangerous love with Harry Caine played by Lluis Homar and Lena (played by Penelope Cruz) as protagonists. Entitled “Los Abrazos Rotos” in Spanish, the film was accepted into the main selection at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival in competition for the prestigious Palme d’Or.
