missoni_logo4MILAN & SAO PAULO, Dec 11, 2009 / FW/ — Figuratively speaking, Missoni underwent the Neptune ceremony with the Italian maison crossing the equator for the first time as it inaugurated its first flagship boutique in Sao Paolo, marking its first location in South America.

Measuring 170 square meters, laid out in one level, the boutique is located at the Iguatemi luxury shopping center. Open and airy yet also welcoming and sunny, the store is the perfect setting to showcase the women’s, men’s, accessories and Missoni Home collections.

A spectacular ivory-colored fringe chandelier greets customers as they enter the store while a “patchwork wall” serves as the focal point of the boutique.

Composed of squares done in bronze, steel and wood, the “patchwork wall” is evocative of the first artistic creations of Ottavio Missoni. Not surprisingly, the wall symbolizes the maison’s vibrant link between the past and the present.

The boutique offers a special area will be dedicated to women’s evening wear, and also used as the VIP suite for customers preferring to shop in a quiet, and very private, environment.
