PARIS, Jan 25, 2010 / FW/ — Naturally poetic, Khalid Al Qasimi, entitled his Fall 2010 menswear collection, “The Boy with the Pearl Tear”, a clever riff of the painting title “The Girl with the Pearl Earring” and perhaps even his own interpretation of the movie with the same title, this time seen from a masculine point of view.

With sensual luxury as his guiding principle, Khalid Al Qasimi used cashmere and virgin wool-mix for suits, coats and pullovers in muted tones. Trousers are slim and done in black and stone grey. To complete the look, hand woven leather accessories add to the visually and structurally strong silhouette.

Classic cotton shirting has been hand-embellished with glass pearls, a distinctive final touch that pulls together the whole collection and explains the enigmatic title.
