NEW YORK, Sep 11, 2010 / FW/ — As a declination of his haute couture collection, the Edition Georges Chakra runway show is always a delight to attend.

With formal dresses for day and high tea and floor length gowns for the evening, Georges Chakra always dresses his ladies well.

A master of proportion, Georges Chakra can always elongate the silhouette making those wearing minis seem to have legs that run forever while those in gowns float and glide like beautiful evening nymphs.

Still, Georges Chakra’s sexy statement this season is the shoulder. Square necked sleeveless day dresses to one-shoulder cocktail dresses and bustier gowns, the shoulder is sensuous and draws attention to both the figure and the face.

With couture elements being used like the basket weave detail and he use of flat cloth strips to create the dress, it is really hard to describe the collection as ready-to-wear. Demi-couture might be the better word for it.
