MADRID, Nov 18, 2010 / — Tuesday night, Spanish label Mango unveiled its Spring / Summer 2011 collection at the Crystal Gallery of the Cibeles Palace in Madrid, Spain.

Entitled “Modernist Resort,” the collection proposes a clean, modernist approach to fashion with an emphasis on simple lines and minimalist silhouettes.

Meanwhile, the new H.E by MANGO men’s collection returns this season with the same idea of combining sport and retro elements; a collection which reinterprets the classics, applying a slightly ethnic air to the garment interiors and finishes.

With Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana leading the catwalkers for the show, Mango Chairman Isak Andic led a bevy of celebrities and fashionistas in welcoming the new collection.

Olivia Palermo, Johannes Huebl, ElettraWiedemann, Josephine de la Baume, Emmanuelle Alt, Naty Abascal, Luís Medina and Laura Vecino among others, supported Mango’s catwalk event with their presence, which was also attended by famous faces from the world of Spanish fashion and society.

“I really like the collection, particularly the colours and the different garments in it, I really like the coats, the camel tone is very intense; perhaps the garment I like most is a camel coat which has a very wide neck,” commented Olivia Palermo about the collection.

Commenting on the collection, Josephine De La Baume said, “I’m excited because it is an exceptional collection of women’s clothing for all kinds of lively and modern women; I like the youthful and sexy clothes, with a touch of spice, but what I really like is that it also includes garments for every day wear, with a male influence in the suits…that’s what I really like.”

Following the catwalk presentation, MANGO offered a grand after-party-concert at the Crystal Gallery, which featured a very special performance by Micky Green who remarked that [clothing] “has to be fresh, modern and amusing, that’s what people want today.
