MOSCOW, Nov 1, 2010 / — Russian Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2011 yet closed successfully last Thursday in Moscow. From October 16th – 21st Congress Hall of World Trade Center, where Russian Fashion Week was held, turned into the place of fashion discoveries, loud premieres and striking innovations.

Edgy Russian designers and recognized stars of the fashion world showcased new collections on RFW while gifted debutants showed with confidence that Russian fashion possesses not only attractive present, but also promising future. “MegaFon” was RFW General Partner.

Now we know for sure how the next season’s fashion is going to look like. During the six days spring-summer trends were proclaimed on catwalks of the biggest fashion event in Eastern Europe by such outstanding Russian and former USSR designers as – PARFIONOVA, TEGIN, Yegor Zaitsev, Julia Nikolaeva, St. Bessarion, POUSTOVIT (Ukraine), Dasha Gauser, BIRYUKOV, Olga Samoschenko (Belarus), Masha Sharoeva, Lyudmila Norsoyan, Alisher, Shumilo&Elagina, Ndombi Stella, Elena Tsokalenko (Belarus), Borodulin’s, Elena Souproun, O.K.M. and others.

Russian fashion guru Slava Zaitsev traditionally opened RFW SS-2011 with his outstanding fashion-show showcasing resplendence of fabric textures along with bright symbiosis of innovative designs and classical solutions.

However Russian Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2011 was a triumph not only for maestros of the Russian fashion, but also for talented debutants of a local fashion-scene. Slava Zaitsevs’ gifted students – graduates of “Laboratoriya 13” – Masha Alueva, Lana Bilyuga, Lena Kiseleva, Yana Pechorina, Lusine Akopyan, Lyudmila Hatlamadzhieva, Mariya Tsuman, Lyudmila Golovan, Alla Belousova, Irina Zubareva, Alexandra Telitsina, Lyusya Mamonova, Rusudan Kobyakova showcased their first outstanding works on RFW.

Estimable graduates have proved their professional strength in difficult silhouettes geometry, color scale harmony and uncommon material choice.

Tatyana Chekish – the winner of Nadegda Lamanova young fashion designers competition – has drawn attention of the fashion public to her show. She’s presented many unusual ideas such as – short dress as if it was webbed from newspaper sheets, and has surprised the audience with provocative audacity of decorative elements.

Russian Fashion Week continued with the practice of designer presentations, which were successfully tested last season. RFW Organizing Committee has selected the best young designers from all applicants and granted them a space at the RFW venue for creative mini-presentations.

Novices at Russian Fashion Week – Ekaterina Senina, Masha Yankovsksya, POMESTAYMENYAMI, ORHATEME, Katerina Levina, LowFat, FORTYTWO, BUGAZ, Olia Feshina, ANYAVANYA took full advantage of this unique and exclusive opportunity to impress the fashion-experts with their original concepts.

RFW foreign program presented a wide palette of European fashion. Italian “king of fur” Vinicio Pajaro brought his new line PAJARO to Moscow – experiments with sheared and classic fur, inspired by abstract art and nature.

Schunk&Rosenfeld – women’s clothing brand from Germany – proposed a new interpretation of luxury, combining abundance of metal décor, elegance and sexiness.

Finnish brand LINNANEN who’s well-known for its high quality double-sided coats has presented their nostalgic collection in the presentation showroom at the RFW venue adding optimistic and bright tones to their traditionally restrained color palette.

Mieke Timmers – the designer of Mari Tonnetti brand from the Netherlands saw feminine elements in the originally unfeminine things like classic style pants and camisoles. Dutch designer was performing in duet with the legendary shoe innovator from Denmark Jan Jansen. Such up-to-date models like Woody (1969 shoe model made of wood and leather), High Heeled Sneaker (sneakers made of red material on a high wedge heel) brought world fame to Jan Jansen. The audience of the RFW was ravished by original jackboots performed in glossy-red and leopard colors.

In All-Russian Museum of Decorative-Applied and Folk Arts Russian Fashion Week in cooperation with website Trendspace.ru presented a photography exhibition “In Their Shoes” by Dylan Don, a famous photographer and web blogger.

The name of this photographer is familiar to everyone who enjoys fashion-photography and spends lots of time in the World Wide Web. His works can be seen in the world leading glossies, and in Dylan Don’s blog, where he uploads his photos and discusses the latest trends.

The camera of this famous photographer has been in every spot of the world where it could find interesting shoes, imprinting high heels at a party, moccasins with skulls on red Persian carpets, leopard ballet flats on the snow, sneakers on the streets of New York and even stiletto heels on the bottom of the pool.
