MILAN, Feb. 23, 2011/FW/— This season for N°21, the staples of feminine dress met exquisitely mannish influences.  Brocade and lace in soft, girly colors, plumes and plunging necklines mixed with trench coats, barbour style jackets, and button up shirts.  The all time classics of the male and female wardrobes blended into a new kind of sensual dressing.

An abundance of gold lurex knits, jacquard brocades, and lace, was seen in silhouettes like straight, cropped pants and jackets.  The shapes of the collection had a vertical feel, flowing easily from top to bottom.  There was a lot of leg this season as knee length skirts reigned and gave the looks a sophisticated femininity, especially when contrasted with a touch of tom boy.  Almost no black was used in the collection, besides the first few chic monotone looks.  Instead, the focus was on pastel yellow, blush, and slate.
