PARIS, Mar 12, 2011/ FW/ — With the staff of the atelier taking the bow at the end of the show, John Galliano’s absence was felt strongly at the end of the Christian Dior runway show.

But, Galliano’s touch in the collection was easily seen and felt. With an obvious theme of English romanticism, the former Creative Director’s last collection for Dior proposes long coats, wide-brimmed hats and leather boots with laces.

The combination of precious fabrics like chiffon, velvet and cashmere dark-green, blue and burgundy look quite well. Lightweight translucent dresses which looked more like underwear than outerwear are combined with classic tartan jacket or short coat.
