MILAN, Jun 30, 2011/ — Celebrated Italian fashion house Missoni has announced the opening of its second UK stand-alone store in the heart of London’s exclusive shopping district. The 3506 sq ft boutique, located at 138 New Bond Street, will showcase the world of Missoni with menswear, womenswear and homeware collections across three floors.

To celebrate the store opening Missoni has created a special limited edition shoulder bag which will be sold exclusively in the New Bond Street store. All the proceeds from this bag are being donated to the Hoping Foundation, of which Bella Freud is the patron.

Hoping stands for Hope and Optimism for Palestinians in the Next Generation. Supporting Palestinian children is a real catalyst for change and shows young Palestinians that their struggle to transform their lives is encouraged giving them a belief in the promise of a better future.

The store design unfolds with customers greeted on the ground floor with an imposing fringed pendant lamp from the revered Missoni home collection. This floor is dedicated to the womenswear and accessories collections.

A frosted glass optic framed staircase leads down to the menswear collections on the lower ground floor and up to womenswear which continues on the first floor.

The home collections also feature throughout the store with walls painted in the understated RAL 9010 shade of Missoni white, carpets in Kara, Berlin and Carousel shades and stools covered in the signature Missoni chevron.

The Missoni brand has been in existence for over fifty years and is the fruit of the successful partnership between Tai and Rosita Missoni. The couple began making knits in the basement of their first home and since then the business has grown into one of the most prominent fashion houses in the world.

The brand has introduced a precise way of dressing and living through diverse combinations of shades textures and patterns and today provides a complete lifestyle experience.

“We are very excited to be opening our second store in London on New Bond Street and to work with the Hoping Foundation which supports change and a better future for young people in Palestine” says Angela Missoni, Co-Owner and Creative Director of Missoni.
