Mara Hoffman Spring 2012: South of the Border

NEW YORK, Sep 10, 2011/ FW/ — With famed artist Frida Kahlo as her inspiration, Mara Hoffman created her “Mara Mexicana” collection that featured new original color prints that were custom-designed in-house.

Describing the collection as “Mexican Mamas”, Mara Hoffman proposed many great new shapes and styles, including several fantastic jumpsuits (with both long pants and short romper styles), easy tunics, tea-length column dresses and a new take on a ruffled peasant dress.

Details such as seed beading, embroidery and weaving are prevalent throughout the collection. There is also a group that features colorful neon embroidery over solid black or white silk crepe fabrics. In addition to original prints, the collection includes solid colors ranging from White, Red, Blue, Orange and Black.
