Backstage at Betsey Johnson the vibe was upbeat as you can imagine with the designers’ free, fun, and fashionable personality. Think personal DJ mixing tunes, champagne, assortments of candy, and my personal favorite, Baked by Melissa Cupcakes. Pink is everywhere, as to be expected. Balloons, confetti, hand-made signs with words of encouragement, and rose petals are being thrown in the air by Betsey herself. Life is a party backstage at Betsey Johnson. Racks of the gorgeous clothes await their place on the models and last minute make up and hair touches are being applied. Jon Reyman for Aveda is the genius behind the hair, styling with an ode to Betsey in the 1960’s as the main theme. Backstage Betsey fields interviews and countless photo ops, all while being incredibly upbeat! Nails are painted with Betsey Johnson for OPI new colors, rhinestones are applied to models’ eyes all while the party backstage is in full action! …And it’s SHOW TIME!
