Monique Lhuillier’s Fall 2012 collection is all about the womanly shape. Almost every model is sporting a wide leather belt shown paired with billowing ball gowns to sexy cat-woman inspired pants suits. The décolleté was often showing through nude fabric revealing just enough to tease. The nude overlay was frequently accompanied by lovely bejeweled accents. You can be sure there were a fair share of high slits in the flowing gowns. Sparkly shoulders stood out among the parade of pieces. I always say “when in doubt wear red” and it seems Monique Lhuillier followed this fashionable mantra. The runway saw gorgeous cherry and poppy-reds as accents and in full-on saturation, along with the ever-classic black. Leather seems to be a consistent trend this season. The collection featured leather accents on ball gowns, outerwear, and sleek pantsuits. The overall feel of the collection is sophisticated, high glamour, and sensuality. Any piece from this collection will be a show-stopper … red carpet worthy!
