NEW YORK, Sep 8, 2012/ — Katya’s Spring/Summer 2013 evokes a futuristic, slightly nymph-like vibe. Quite a few looks had chiffon panels moving freely behind the model as she went down the runway evoking a light, ethereal influence.

The pieces moved with the model swaying from one side to the next. A palette of soft metallics, green velvets, and about 50 shades of gray, in the literal sense, rounded out the collection.

Trend alert: headbands as jewelry. In order to keep the focus on the clothes, minimal accessories were worn, and instead a headband perfectly matching the outfit’s hue was the main accessory.

The vibe of the collection is soft, breezy, and earthy. Green printed cut-out dresses in taffeta, and reverse peplum’s were also frequent in the collection.

The Japanese influence of the Kimono style collar can be seen paired with a python short.

Katya takes the conservative juxtaposed with the edgy print to add dimension and curiosity. Leather was also used in the collection as an anchor to the plisse capes and chiffon skirting to center the vaporous looks, which will be perfect in the summer heat.
