INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF TEAMSTERS LOGONEW YORK, Sep 3, 2014/ — Two of New York City’s most treasured traditions united this evening as Fashion Week and New York’s horse-drawn carriages joined together to debut Victor dE Souza’s Spring 2015 collection on a moving runway through Central Park.

Models rode in the back of the iconic Central Park horse-drawn carriages, wearing dE Souza’s newest designs.

“Horse-drawn carriages have been a part of the beautiful cityscape that is New York for more than 150 years,” dE Souza said. “I was honored to premiere my designs with something that represents this city’s proud history.”

The horse-carriage drivers seamlessly integrated into the fashion show, donning their traditional coats, tails and top hats. The models wore extravagant gowns specifically designed to match the grandeur of the classic carriages.

“It was a fantastic event that I was proud to be a part of,” said carriage driver and association leader Stephen Malone. “Two New York City traditions came together seamlessly tonight, with a beautiful result.”

By bringing his creations out into the public, dE Souza invited every New Yorker to his fashion show. And with the success of the event, Tahor Group, who planned the event announced that this is going to be a bi-yearly event to coincide with Fashion Week.
