DALLAS, Apr 23, 2007/ FW/ — When Blake Mycoskie founded TOMS Shoes in early 2006, the concept is simple – for every pair bought, Blake will donate a pair to an underprivileged child in an international location.
Last October, Blake went on the first annual shoe drop to Argentina where he gave out 10,000 pairs of TOMS Shoes, as he had sold 10,000 in the first 6 months in business.
The idea caught on like wildfire, again, for simple reasons: (1) TOMS canvas slip-ons are comfortable, easy-to-wear and can be your go-anywhere footwear; (2) generally, people want to share and give back to the community.
Right now, Blake Mycoskie is on a 3-month road trip around the U.S. in an Airstream RV with his intern ZAK to spread the word about TOMS Shoes and meet all of the sales people who are spreading the word about TOMS.
This November, Blake is going to Africa and expects to be giving out around 100,000 pairs of TOMS Shoes.
TOMS Shoes is available in all NORDSTROM locations in the U.S. plus a horde of specialty stores. So, what are you waiting for? Isn’t it time that you also start wearing TOMS Shoes?
