Attachment Menswear Spring 2008

PARIS, June 28, 2007/ FW/ — A veteran at Issey Miyake, Kazuyuki Kumagai brought with him the strict craftsman spirit when he launched his own label in 1998 and thus also has an affinity to fabric development like his mentor.

Using his deep understanding of the fabric and its technical specification, Kumagai folded, cut and draped the fabric with such minute precision that on the runway, you just see ‘one piece’ of garment like the spring coat where we don’t know where the shoulder ends and the sleeves begin.

Sharp tailoring with soft contours, Kazuyuki Kumagai is proposing a new direction for menswear wherein one does not need to be hard to be masculine.
