LOS ANGELES, Jan 28, 2008 / FW/ — With an abbreviated Golden Globe Awards, the anticipation for the SAG Awards was at fever pitch last Sunday as it was the first red carpet affair for the awards season. And though no one would really accept it, seeing our favorite stars dressed up in the latest fashion actually brightens up the day. Especially with gloomy outlook on the economy, everyone needs a picker upper once in a while.
Take Michelle Pfeiffer and Diane Lane for instance. Both arrived on the red carpet wearing Versace. Both outfits are from the pre-Fall 2008 Winter 2009 collection, which means that NO ONE had even seen it before because Milan Fashion Week is actually scheduled on Feb 16 – 23, 2008. In short, Ms. Pfeiffer and Ms. Lane are giving everyone a preview, something that is reserved only for a very exclusive group of clients, press and buyers.

Michelle Pfeiffer wore a taupe strapless dress with a small pleat motif on the skirt and a structured top while Diane Lane chose a dark green silk satin evening gown, with the top made of contrasting silk, satin, and chiffon and the satin skirt enriched with chiffon inserts of the same color.
For those who watched the TBS and/or TNT telecast, then you already know that Daniel Day-Lewis & Julie Christie won Best Actor and Best Actress respectively. Charles Dunning was given the highest honor as SAG’s 44th Annual Life Achievement winner.
