DALLAS, Jan 29, 2008 / FW/ — If Brioni went virtual for its Fall 2008 presentation, the luxury company’s second consecutive victory for the Cartier Thropy at the 24th Polo World Cup on Snow in Saint Moritz is REAL.

The formidable Brioni Polo team, led by young patron Guy Schwarzenbach (of Switzerland), proved too strong and inspired for the opposing title-sponsor Cartier team, eight-times winner of the tournament, in what has been defined by experts as possibly “the finest polo game ever seen at Saint Moritz.”

In a spectacular grand final, the four Brioni players – Schwarzenbach, John Paul Clarkin (of New Zealand), Nacho Gonzales and Johnny Good (of the UK) – dazzled spectators with stunning action, heart-stopping goals, wonderful team-work and exceptional individual brilliance, with Clarkin scoring the winning point of the last chukker, bringing the final score to 8 ½ to 6.

Brioni, the only undefeated team in the competition, on Friday also won the Nespresso Trophy against the Maybach team.

Traditionally one of the most important social events of season, Brioni used this year’s event to unveil a limited-edition polo collection, inspired by the game of polo and targeting polo followers with a refined sense of style.

The garments designed for the collection are exquisitely crafted in a small palette of colors – green, blue and white – with a dominating “regimental” theme, present in all the pieces of the collection, creating a total polo look.

This capsule collection will be available exclusively at Brioni’s boutiques in Milan, Rome, Paris, Madrid, New York and Beverly Hills from this January until the summer.
