• Jeremy Laing

Canadian-born Jeremy Laing’s self-taught method combines organic and geometric approaches to pattern- making and construction. He honed his skills while studying in Toronto, attending Westminster University in London, and during his apprenticeship with Alexander McQueen. In Laing’s view, garments are a sum of parts, all functioning in relation to one another and, ultimately, to the body. His collections are elaborations on simple principles of construction and form, drawing simultaneously from couture and tailoring traditions.

  • United Bamboo

Launched in 1998 by Miho Aoki and Thuy Pman, United Bamboo has established itself as a pioneer in fashion design and creative collaboration with downtown artists, curators, and musicians. Multidimensional in scope, and focused on fostering the new and experimental, United Bamboo’s re-visioning of classic American sportswear embodies this spirit as demonstrated in their runway debut in New York for Fall 2004. The label provocatively plays on and reinterprets the All-American, implementing innovative pattern making techniques and subtle juxtapositions that turn the notion of preppy on its head. Most recently, United Bamboo has collaborated with Karen O from the band the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on music for their upcoming show.

  • James Coviello

After graduating from Parsons School of Design in 1987, in a twist to the traditional fashion career, James Coviello established the James Coviello Hat Collection.  It was featured on the runways of fashion luminaries including Anna Sui, Calvin Klein, Geoffrey Beene and Oscar de la Renta.  From the start, his collection was recognized and picked-up by high-end retailers across the country.  In 2000, James presented his first ready-to-wear runway show and his collection now includes knitwear, wovens, and accessories.  His collection evokes the romantic, quirky charm of the past with modern sophistication and is known for its original prints, knitwear, and unusual use of color.  Today, James sells to nearly one hundred stores in the United States, Asia, and the Middle East.  This season marks the runway return of a full range of James Covellio Hats.
