New York Fashion Week Update: VPL by Victoria Bartlett, Tadashi Shoji & Daryl K

Born in Gloucester, England, Victoria Bartlett graduated from the London College of Fashion with a degree in fashion design. Soon after, she moved to New York and began her acclaimed styling career.  In Fall 2003, Victoria launched VPL or Visible Panty Line in order to pursue her true passion for design.  Since its inception, the line has gradually evolved to include accessories, bags, and shoes. VPL received the Ecco Domani award in 2006, and was a finalist for the Fashion Group International’s Rising Star Award in 2007.  In July 2007, Victoria was named as a finalist for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.

Tadashi Shoji is the founder and designer of Tadashi Shoji and Tadashi Collections. He has been a prolific and dynamic force in the industry for over 25 years.  His designs have won a loyal following with globe trotting style-setters that range from Halle Berry, Claudia Schiffer, Padma Lakshmi, Kirsten Bell, and Ali Landry to Queen Latifah. This season he broadens his appeal by collaborating with Tina Chai, a contributing editor to Vogue and stylist to A-list celebrities. Together, they are expanding his collection to include signature Tadashi Shoji looks that afford his women the opportunity to wear his designs day and night. This is the first collection that will include ready-to-wear for day. The result is modern, bold, and elegant with a touch of sophisticated Hollywood glamour.

Daryl K is known for providing lean and sleek clothing with understated sophistication.  Kerrigan, Daryl’s latest diffusion line premiered in Spring of 2008, and maintains the “tough yet feminine spirit of her career and is inspired by her roots.  In addition to punk toughness,  the collection offers refined feminine silhouettes such as the silk empire line dress and the form fitting knotted tank dress.  Kerrigan is priced significantly lower than her mainline- Daryl K. Cotton twill pull on pants cap at $205.00 and silk blouses are priced at $115.00.
