Alexandre Herchcovitch Fall 2008

NEW YORK, Feb 7, 2008 / FW/ — With news last month that controlling interest on Alexandre Herchcovitch had been acquired by a big Sao Paulo firm, the Brazilian designer has a lot of reasons to celebrate, and that he did on the catwalk sending a very colorful collection with a purpose courtesy of the black silhouettes that opened the show.

In what appeared to be a very serious collection in the beginning, with the black mini dresses, pantsuit sets and floor length frocks, Herchcovitch message was somber but not stern. It seemed that he just wanted to show that he was very focused.

Then the fun begun; yellow/black plaid, and all shades of orange from bright to sorbet were proposed on a ¾ sleeve coatdress with navy collar and the square neck tank dress with big pockets in front.

Even with the change in tempo, Herchcovitch remained focused, never losing sight of his now completed message, serious and fun are not always two sides of the coin; they can share the catwalk and our real life.
