Miss Sixty Fall 2008
Miss Sixty Fall 2008

NEW YORK, Feb 5, 2008 / FW / — A spectacular stage that looked like a set from Austin Powers and a spectacular front row that included Anne Hathaway, Chloe Sevigny and Ashley Olsen, it was retro 1970s ‘the Love Bug’ techno-psychedelic chic for Miss Sixty’s Fall 2008 collection.

The moment you walk in the venue, the backdrop already hits you – Volkswagen vans painted in neon shades with flowers, clouds, trees and a big rainbow heart, were stacked on top of each other. It was the Peace & Love era of the hippie movement.

But instead of flower power, Miss Sixty chose the psychedelic shapes of the 1970s sending minis and hot pants in stripes or zigzags. Jeans of course also made it on the runway. After all, Miss Sixty made its name on denim

Yet, though the heat was on and the styling of the clothes were perfect, Miss Sixty failed to present anything new. In the end, it was a very tight collection of very wearable clothes that would surely sell but did not break new grounds for the label.
