Enrico Coverin Menswear Spring 2009

MILAN, Jun 24, 2008 / FW/ — An absolutely optimistic summer, as Enrico Coveri suggested that we should forget about the rising gasoline prices and faltering world economy just for a moment and enjoy the beach, spend a night out with friends or a go for a weekend getaway.

Coveri, whose color exuberance garnered him a lot of fans extended it to his menswear collection. Opening in white, Miami Vice fans immediately thought of Don Johnson, but except for that split second reminiscence, the collection turned out to be as far away from Miami as possible, but more on the college kid spending summer outside the hallowed halls of the Ivy League.

From bright to sorbet shades of pink, blue and green, even lavender, Enrico Coveri did not hold back when it came to color. Perhaps it is his way of putting that ‘feminine influence’ on men’s clothing, which seems to be the big trend this season.

Still, this is an Enrico Coveri runway show, known for color and exotic prints. Did he do it just to follow the trend? Or, he is just being himself? No need to answer that because the collection acquitted itself by just being absolutely fabulous!
