Cathy Pill Spring 2009
Cathy Pill Spring 2009

PARIS, Jul 7, 2008 / FW/ — Cathy Pill’s modern collection consisted of synthetic, splatter painted pant outfits and dresses. The leggy models looked great in closely fit, asymmetrical dresses, although I’m not sure anyone else would. The print on the dresses was like they had been dipped in paint or splattered with dye. The interesting draping made me ask with each dress, “How did she do that?”

The collection was very bright and airy, especially for fall/winter, which in actuality is not surprising because Cathy Pill unveiled her Spring / Summer 2009 pieces!

To help emerging designers, the Chambre Syndicale has allowed deserving talents to be part of the official haute couture calendar to help them jumpstart their career. Cathy Pill is one of these designers. Before her, there was Anne Valerie Hash, who today has a haute couture line in addition to her prêt-a-porter offering.
