own represents a “mid-Atlantic” elegance for men, striking the right balance halfway between European creativity and American style.

In the designing duo at the helm of Duckie Brown – together with Daniel Silver – Steven Cox is the more European half: originally from London, Cox has then worked as a designer at Tommy Hilfiger, Polo and Theory, before he founded with Silver the brand that was honored last year with a Menswear designer of the year nomination by CFDA.

Before sending their Duckie Brown collection for Spring-Summer 2009 on the runway, under the tents in Bryant Park at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Steven Cox has answered our questionnaire.

What is fashion for?

To change the way we see ourselves in the world.

If you were not a fashion designer, what would you be?

An architect.

What are you proud of?

Myself.

Nothing.
