DALLAS, Aug 20, 2008 / FW/ — Yesterday, WWD reported that Luca Orlandi, the founder of Luca Luca has named Raul Melgoza as his replacement. And if we were going to judge where the label will be going under Raul Melgoza’s creative helm, we would say it would be more high concept.

But, Melgoza had already said that for Spring 2009 he would return to Luca Luca’s roots of elegant lines.

“I will be looking at what Luca (Orlandi) did in the past but not obsessing over it. I see it as a foundation I can take to the next level,” Raul Melgoza said. (WWD)

So, what can we expect this September for Luca Luca? A collection with detailed attention to details and construction made with luxurious fabrics. The color palette consists of neutral tones accented with punches of color, most noticeably steel purple, ice blue, and copper.

Each piece promises to be alluring yet refined, keeping the LUCA LUCA collection true to its heritage. And hopefully, we will still see Luca Orlandi’s distinctive distinctive sexy silhouettes and unique color combinations that are elegant and futuristic without looking sci-fi.
