MILAN, Sep 21, 2008 / FW/ — With sand covering the wide runway, Roberto Cavalli presented his Just Cavalli collection is a scene from a tropical island vacation in the 1920’s.  The stage was set up like a luxurious beach get-away with soft sand lounging white cushions all the way out into the guests seats.  This collection was about feminine freedom so what better way to express that then in a setting of a vacation.
This collection was not for the working woman but for the leisure woman to relax, play and lounge in.  Pants and jackets are for men as the Just Cavalli woman this season wears only feminine cuts.   Designs are bold jewelry is large and colors are bright.  Prints and colors mix and match as yellow and pink animal prints are found in the same outfit.
Feminine touches are important as ruffles and jewelry take on a big roll.    Large loose ruffles line skirts and dresses and in one piece, they cover the whole dress.  Necklaces are beachy and come in exotic colors like green and blue with starfish pendants sticking out of a thick string of colored balls.   Shoes take on this thickness in the form of ultra high wedges and platforms with colorful designs on its sides.
Light fabrics make an array of ultra sexy flowy dresses that range from above the knee to floor length.  Animal prints become pieces of art as they collage together in a mélange of color and design.  Straps constructed by twisted fabrics fall out into soft cowls as brightly colored silks and laces create new dimensions.  Prints take on graphic qualities as snakeskin turns into a artistic print rather then an animal one.  Faces also play a large roll in graphics from a denim dress covered with a mans face to a silk one covered with a woman’s.
The collection was very Just Cavalli, with new modern takes on Roberto’s signature animal prints and seductive designs.
