Laura Biagiotti Spring 2009

MILAN, Sep 27, 2008 / FW/ — The designer who brought to life video game costumes once again went to the world of animation to find inspiration for her Spring / Summer 2009 collection and this time Laura Biagiooti found Ariel and Melody of the ‘The Little Mermaid’ fame from Disney.

Red and white corals as prints and also as jewelry, Laura Biagiotti kept everything thematic and directional from the white tunic dress decorated with yellow and red ‘seaweeds’ to the all black ensembles for the ‘wicked witch’ persona.

The theme might be for kindergarten kids but the fashion is serious. Naval knots for belts or adornments, sheered necklines and embroidered hemlines shaped like leaves, prints in pastel colors, the little mermaid named Ariel had grown up and is now princess of Prince Eric’s kingdom on dry land.

Another thing that makes this collection very special – Laura Biagiotti interpreted the botanical color shades in a different manner. While everyone stayed on dry land, Laura Biagiotti found her garden under the sea.
