Juliette Lewis for Miss Bikini Spring 2009

MILAN, Sep 20, 2009 / FW/ — With Juliette Lewis on the catwalk, Miss Bikini attracted more paparazzi than usual. But don’t even think for a minute that designers Alessandra and Francesca Piacentini forgot fashion even for a moment. From the first exit to the last, Miss Bikini Spring 2009 collection was a modern look at different cultures and places translated into sexy swimsuits, wraps and dresses.

Rocking, swinging, dreaming… Miss Bikini perceived impressions and moods, only to be transformed into iconographic and stylistic designs. An original mix of colors and prints were seen in both clothing and accessories, either as details or the as the focal point.

A short trip via memory lane to the vibrant 1970s and the funky 1980s, Miss Bikini’s versatile apparel was designed for the sophisticated lady who is also a little austere and likes to flaunt her allure.

Kaftans, dresses, tunics, trousers, blouses: each piece shows its individual personality through brilliant plain colours that shine from glossy satin or mix together in innumerable prints.

The collection’s personality is seen in the impressions created by the patterns and prints. The silk kaftans – the collection’s signature must-have is amazingly feminine and versatile. It could double as a cocktail dress or eveningwear.

There is also a new use of stretch satin in garish colors for the “quick”, short dress; or the dress with a shirt collar, enriched with “Indian” embroidery or coloured or animal-print stones; or an oriental-style dress for the evening.

And while the swimwear continues to be functional, Miss Bikini has also made it more seductive, thanks to new bra shapes with padded cups and new shaped-short bottoms or others with a little more coverage, like the Sun style.

But its real appeal lies in its incredible range of prints, motifs and patterns that put the accent on embossed and other textures. Creating an authentic, irresistible, complete world of sensuality.
